I'm BACK once again with another cool career milestone for Josh...starring in a music video!

This wasn't exactly on my Josh Hutcherson bingo card, but I ain't mad about it. If you like story-based, unique music videos with a hint of darkness AND you're a Josh fan...drop everything and go watch the "Middle" by DJ Snake, Feat. Bipolar Sunshine music video on YouTube.

Not only will this introduce you to a super catchy song, we get to see Josh shine as an actor again when he welcomes us to a unique tale - a young, nerdy, superhero obsessed guy meets who he perceives to be a similar woman and is overjoyed...until his fantasy is broken...and then reborn?!. Was she real, or not real? Who knows. (Did that make anyone else think of the Hunger Games line?)

As a big music fan, I'd guess that the story and meaning is up for audience interpretation. To me, the scene where Josh's character and his character's crush are looking into the mirror represents his desire to be seen by someone like him. The scenes where they are running and jumping and taking crazy risks, as if they are real superheroes, could represent the freedom that comes from being your true self with someone else, enjoying life together from a similar perspective. This also created a secret world for the two of them - just like how the lyrics hint to - "I promise to build a new world for us two // with you in the middle".

Josh was fantastic in this. Since this was a music video without a speaking portion, Josh doesn't have spoken lines, but relies on his expressions and actions to clue us in to the story and his character's objectives and feelings. Considering I was able to draw some conclusions about the story pretty comfortably, as shared above, I'd say he succeeded! Whether I'm right or not is irrelevant. He and the artists made me feel somethin' and that's what good art should do.

Be sure to watch the music video if you haven't yet, and stick around for more Josh reviews!

Peace and Joshperity,

G
